Three Things are Needed

THREE THINGS ARE NEEDED WORK TEAMS Teams are comprised of 20 folks who stay at the Good Shepherd, UCC in Metairie, LA Housing is at the church in bunk beds or on cots or air mattresses and we prepare our own meals Construction teams should have at least 2 skilled persons, the more the better! (carpenters,contractors ...) and lot's of willing hands - skilled or unskilled Construction work is done on homes in New Orleans and Homes in the suburbs Educational teams include certified teachers (past or present certification) who help in a classroom, and educators/dramatists/musicians to do a performance from curriculum related material, followed by learning centers based on the theme (math, geography, writing, "wondering"...) The cost is $1,200 - this includes Room, Board, Vehicle Rentals & Fuel, Missionary Accident Insurance, Leadership/Organization, $200 for Materials, and Airfare: (if the cost of airfare exceeds $500/person, the cost of the trip would increase.) Dates of Massachusetts trips are posted on the WAMS,UCC website: www.wamsucc.org ITEMS TO SHARE School supplies for students or teachers Handmade prayer shawls, quilts, blankets Gently used musical instruments (band/orchestra) Many items of school curriculum or equipment that your school is replacing may be needed (check with the Book Ministry Coordinator Sheila Allred sheallred@gmail.com ) Like-new books for pre-schoolers through high schoolers are still welcome MONEY Write checks for housing materials & educational supplies for rebuilding - to WAMS, UCC (Worcester Area Missions Society) earmarked "hurricane recovery materials." www.WAMSUCC.org Write checks to help Good Shepherd UCC continue to support their growing outreach ministry through... www.MACUCC.org or www.GSUCC.org $25 gift certificates for Home Depot, Lowes, Target, Walgreen's or Sears are used for personal assistance
