WAYS & WAYS II
PART OF AN INTERGENERATIONAL, INTERFAITH
WORKDAY FOR ADULTS AND YOUTH IN SERVICE

- Complete and return the enclosed application by Thursday, October 16, 2008. (If you are part of a group, place all individual applications and the Group List in the same envelope.)
- The release of all claims must be signed and included with your registration and we must have the original signature, not a photocopy. ** (Please note: If a youth under 18 does not have a form signed by a parent or guardian - they may not work.)
- Include your registration check for $10 per person made payable to WAMS, UCC.
- We plan to have t-shirts to give to any WAYS II participant who has not received one at past events.
(If you are running late, please fax the registration forms to us at 508-721-2539 or e-mail the information to shantiawg@gmail.com and then send your money along later. The names of participants and information about skill levels are needed to form and assign work teams in advance of your arrival.

- Although WAYS II participants are not required to obtain a minimum of $20 in sponsorship, any donations your group can make toward materials will enable more substantial work to be done.
- Please let us know as soon as possible what you have collected in pledges or sponsorship money. (Return the completed sponsorship form with your registration or Email or FAX this information no later than Thursday October 16, 2008.) This may make the difference in the amount of work to which we are able to commit.
- Portions of the workdays may be photographed and videotaped by WAMS, UCC. If anyone has an objection to being photographed, please let us know.
- If anyone should need to reach you in an emergency during the event, they should call the WAYS coordinator’s cell phone at 508-450-2001 and leave a message.
Ways Your Congregation Could Help |
There are many ways individuals and congregations can help between now and the event:
- Sponsor or co-sponsor a site financially
- Bake snacks for worksite groups
- Donate or lend us a First Aid Kit for a worksite
- Donate painting or carpentry supplies to be used at a worksite
- Serve as a registrar at a worksite, 8-9:30 AM Saturday
- Check in, through the workdays, with a site or sites to see if they need supplies
- Serve as a photographer for a site or sites
- For the future:
- Nominate a home in Worcester County whose family needs our help to maintain it
What You Need to Bring With You When You Come |
- Lunch and a drink
- Any sponsorship money (if it isn’t already in)
- Work gloves, safety goggles and sturdy shoes ( Dress appropriately for painting and carpentry and for the weather)
- Tools -- After you have received your site assignment, see the “Tools to Bring” list to determine what you should bring. [If there are items, which you can’t bring from your list, please let us know at least one week in advance. We will be depending on your tools.]
